#61 - Juniors & Seniors

Yes, went to Science Center for outing with CCA mates before heading for our lunch. Okay, I know it's a bit of pathetic to go to science center, but, it have been like 4 years since I went there? Need to update myself with the latest technology. Yeah right.

It was scary at the entrance cause a shark launched at us, not. Yes, it was the shark exhibition on that day, wanted to go for it but we didn't had the time, since we were going for Sakura which has a specific time slot for lunch buffet. -.-!

Didn't took much photos cause it was damn crowded, to the point where you see lots of kids so engrossed to the 'latest technology', gluing their eyes on pieces of metal? I guess they used some special brand of glue, you name it! And sometimes, you'll get rejected by the president, I mean in the picture!

Then there was this puffer-fish liked aquatic animal darting around in the aquarium. This photo is taken by me, as you can judge from the high professional skills of the photography. Okay, that's not the main point, but, look at the eyes of the fish, so mesmerizing.

Then we saw this shadow display in a dark room.Nothing much eh.

Headed for lunch at Sakura. We were the earliest customer, but we're not typical Singaporeans. We were there early cause we thought it would open earlier and that we skipped breakfast. So that explained our punctuality -.-!
Part of the buffet. There's way more than this, but we were too hungry to snap every single type of the food.
(F.Y.I. this is the raw food section, yummy max!)

Then we had Baked oysters with cheese, and the yellow ball-liked food on the right is actually fried durian. Devoured them within seconds without giving a thought. Guess that's the effect of starvation.

Grilled salmon. No we didn't have one, but at least ten. Would say it tasted so nice that we ordered so many times, without knowing that the previous order was not delivered to us yet. Thus, ending up with many plates of it. Yet, we finished it off.

There's always space for dessert. Lime sherbet. Yay!

 The cake section. Mmmmm.

The bimbo-tic gourmet, Jasmine, got herself more food since she didn't feel any fullness settling down. On the other side, the rest were madly bloated, of which some went to the toilet to relieve themselves. (Oops, this might be too implicit.) Simply, SHIT!

Then we scooped most flavors of ice creams into small bowls, and had some fun. The loser must finish a whole mouthful of it, despite being bloated!

This was only half of what we had eaten!

Then we took a bus to bedok cause we had nothing to do. Then we trained back to clementi to have our KOI!
Full order! Waited for some time, and I finally got my Vanilla Milk Tea!

Yeah, we saw many unusual things on that day.
1. A young girl grabbing her mother's boobs and shaping it.
2. A transvestite wearing a wig, with a spaghetti stripe and a pair of ultra short shorts.
3. Lastly, a lesbian couple.

No offense, but what's up with Singaporeans these days? Too stressed out?

And, we've learnt something new! Making a buffet worth it's price tips:
1. Avoid having a heavy meal before the buffet.
2. Try not to consume any fluids during the buffet, until you've eaten till you are bloated. (Take non-gassy drinks if you're thirsty.)
3. Always have desserts last, as there's always space for dessert.
4. Bring dried orange peels/ skin as it'll make you release gas from either the top or the bottom.
5. Get someone who eat a lot, so that you won't waste any money, since he or she is helping you to make the amount of food consumed worthy of the price paid.
6. If you can't finish any food and there's a penalty to it, try to chuck some of them down your friend's throat or drop it on the table, or last resort, stuff it under stacks of plates.

Alright, that's all. Cheers!

#60 - A Tough & Committed Fight

Singapore Youth Festival `2011
Syf 2011 is finally over. A huge boulder is finally lifted off the shoulders.
Well, I kind of miss those trainings though, all the laughter, joy and tears. After all, it was a job well done. Our efforts didn't go down to waste, but paid off, not owing to everyone who've worked their part.
The crew, who traveled all around Singapore to get the materials, including the long-lasting journeys that took hours of walking, to remote places as well as you know, some undesirable places. Yeah, the hand made costumes, props that we were told to make last minute, were all ready by yesterday. The sewing of uniforms, the making of the key, bands, everything. It was simply great that even though everything didn't went with our way, we still got things done. Not forgetting the lights and sound crew members, who hardly made any mistakes during the day itself. It was really professional.
The cast on the other hand, sacrificed lessons just to make it for the trainings. The sacrifice made through not studying for tests and instead practice for SYF, is appreciated wholeheartedly. We went from a clueless cast that just had a change in our coach, to a team ready to take on any play given to them. The improvements made were not overnight. It was through a tiring 2 months, even with obstacles when the main character sprained her ankle or when conflicts happened within the production. Everything was resolved maturely and I'm glad to say that.

Just glad with our achievement, as we have started on our path to success, eventually attaining a Gold with honor. I'm really proud of all of you.

Here's the message to those who didn't saw it:
"We've began our journey to take on all the challenges,
and eventually overcome the obstacles to achieve a gold with honor.
We've started our very first step, by achieving a BRONZE!
With this current status, I believe that people will look up to Uponstage.
We may be small, but we've got the brains.
We look vulnerable, but we have the resilience to strive hard.
I believe that by keeping our pace going till the end, we'll make ourselves really proud.
Now, with a Bronze achieved, let's be moralized and work harder for the next Syf, for silver!
From today, 14.04.11, Uponstage shall erase all the history, there'll be no more Cop branded Uponstage, but a capable and charging Uponstage.
We've fought for what we wanted. Even though some of us expected too much, but our accomplishment nevertheless, satisfied us.
With the might and ours minds over our body, I believe that no one can bring us down.
It ain't how hard we get hit, but how hard we can get hit. So let's move on and I'm really satisfied and can step down with peace.
Tears clogged up many pairs of eyes today, as we made it to an award.
I wish that years later, you all will feel this way too.
With your tears filled to the brim, I'd say they are the tears of joy. Even though the Sec 4s & 5s are stepping down, I believe that many of you will continue to uphold the name of Uponstage, and lead many juniors to greater heights. Who knows we might become the ultimate CCA that everyone wants to join desperately?!
After all, the hard work paid off. Not owing to those who tried to gain good karma, and those who went all around Singapore like a fool to look for the props and materials. We've worked and fought hard, bonding was observed and even though conflicts created boundaries between some of you, that is all in the past. I'm glad that at this age, you guys are able to think maturely. I believe that some of you are tearing because of this messages, cause if you're not, you're gonna get some onions in your eyes. Best of luck to juniors and all the best to your future endeavors! Cheers!"

Yeah, and there's pictures below!
Early meet up for Breakfast @ 5.30am.

Senior, azfar came back to help with makeup! Thanks!

 The make-up process...
Crew working their way down the stairs with the heavy and bulky wooden stairs.

 Touch-up on the bus.

Making up in the holding area. FYI, that's our coach, Jinsen.

 Final instructions by coach!

 Group photo before it starts.

 The starting, with measurements made!

After SYF, yay!

Cheers!

#59 - A Blessing

Happy Belated 16th to ZhungKiat, Shura & Haikal!

Seeing everyone having their Birthdays adds on to my joy, and give me the driving force and the will to strive hard to achieve an award for the upcoming Singapore Youth Festival Central Judging. I've never felt so elated after yesterday's training, when we improve tremendously and we see a smile on instructor's face.

A Bronze?
A Silver?
A Gold?
A Gold with honors?

Who knows? Our Cca members have been trying hard to collect good karma as well, in the hope of achieving a better result for SYF and prove the school that we have the potential to excel. Yeah, appreciation to USSB's band major for dropping us with a wonderful and motivating note. It goes like this.

" Let me tell you something you already know.
The world ain't all sunshine and rainbow.
It's a very mean and nasty place and
it will beat you to your knees and keep there permanently
if you let it.
You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life.
But it ain't how hard you hit
It's about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward.
How much you can take and keep moving on.
That's how winning is done.
Now, if you know what you're worth,
then go out and get what you're worth.
But you gotta be willing to take the hit,
 and not pointing fingers saying.
You ain't where you are
because of him, her, or anybody.
Cowards do that and that ain't you.
You're better than that."
- Rock Balba.

So, it was really nice of them to do something like this. Gotta go out there get an award because we know how much we're worth! Cheers!

#58 - Silly Faces

Okay, this is rather late, but HAPPY APRIL FOOLS' DAY!

So, have you got tricked? I've gotten none this year and that's a magnificent accomplishment.
I mean, I'm not tricked finally, so let me be happy for this year.
And, it was great that I tricked some people. Seeing their irritated face simply contributes to your joy.
But actually, April Fools' Day is really the day to fool someone. If you do that on other days, be aware that you are actually collecting bad karma for yourself!

Alright, I know I haven't been posting for long, but forgive me. I'm currently fully booked by all my textbooks as they need me to solve their problems. Irritating max, so please be understanding!
